Introducing my brand spanking new podcast!!!

Those of you who have followed this Substack since its inception will know that I’m almost two years in to what I have been calling My New Life - long enough that it’s not even new anymore. Since I left my full time job in journalism, I’ve done some absolutely amazing things, like published my debut novel and written the next one (more on that soon!), and worked on countless fun and interesting articles. But writing books, even frequently, is something that happens in chunks of time - like projects you hyper-focus on and then release. I’ve wanted something else to do consistently (because I am a workaholic, apparently), but I have been waiting for the right time, and the right thing. And finally, a little while back, an idea came to me that I just couldn’t get out of my head. It got to the point where I just had to make it happen, so I did! Introducing, my brand new podcast, You Had Me At Hello!

Of course, I’m no stranger to podcasting. I co-hosted STELLAR Magazine’s beauty pod The Glow Up for about four years and really loved doing it - chatting about beauty with sound people? Ideal! However, when I left the magazine it felt like I was also closing that chapter of my life. I always thought I’d return to the medium when I was meant to, and now here I am!

You Had Me At Hello is a podcast about romantic comedies. In each episode, I will be interviewing somebody I find fascinating about their own life and loves through the prism of their own personal favourite rom-com. And not just comedies, actually - we will be delving in to tearjerkers, bonkbusters, adaptations and seasonal faves too.

It launches on all podcast platforms on Thursday 10th October, with a new episode dropping weekly and culminating in a festive special (I won’t say the C word yet). I’m more than halfway through recording the season with the amazing lads in Collaborative Studios and Chemistry media, who not only did not balk at my pretty girly idea but actually relished the chance to immerse themselves in romance! And it’s been fantastic - my guests are all pretty different, as are their movie choices, and I can’t wait for you to hear them all!

Sometimes I can’t quite believe that this is my life. Writing funny novels and talking about love stories for a living? Get real! But it is, and I’m so grateful to everyone who consumes the stuff I put out. Thank you, thank you.
